ANNOUNCING THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

Shedding new light on disease:
Optical Diagnostics for the New Millennium

23-27 June 2002 - Reims (FRANCE)

Organisers: Ganesh D SOCKALINGUM and Michel MANFAIT

Conference aim

In recent years the spectroscopy and imaging communities have forged ever-closer relationships with the medical community. New techniques have emerged and old techniques have been reinvented to confront the challenges posed in developing diagnostic and clinical applications of optical techniques.

Reflecting this shift, the spectroscopic community is no longer a homogeneous group. An eclectic blend of scientists including biologists, physical chemists, physicists, and physicians have joined forces in the quest for optically-based diagnostic solutions.

This conference will bring this diverse group together and will lay emphasis on diagnosis by optical methods.

The program

Will consist of plenary lectures, oral contributions, two workshops on vibrational spectral imaging and microorganism identification, poster sessions, a forum discussion, and instrument exhibition
